Hi, I'm Laura!

Hello!  My name is Laura (she/her).  I love animals, especially the non-human kind!

I have been caring for pets for over 20 years.  I made pet-sitting a part-time career in late 2019; in the spring of 2023, I made pet-sitting my full-time career.  I committed myself to providing high quality pet care and founded my own business: Pet Care by Laura.

I always grew up in a house with pets (first dogs, later cats).  When I was 10, I adopted my very own kitten from the local shelter.  When I was 12, I started going across the street to feed the neighbor’s cat when his humans were out of town.  When I was 15, I started caring for my rector’s cats whenever she went on vacation.  And so, I gained a reputation as a person who loved pets and would care for them in the absence of their humans.

I have since cared for dogs and cats (from puppies and kittens to senior dogs and cats), as well as macaws, iguanas, bunnies, fish, guinea pigs, snakes, hamsters, and gerbils.  I have given medication to pets orally, via inhaler, and via syringe and needle.  (I have given senior cats fluids via syringe and needle, as well.)  I have also cared for my own rescued cats and dogs over the years, most of whom had special needs in some way.

 

I am a loving, attentive, trustworthy pet-sitter, dog-walker, and cat mom who will give your pet as much love and care as you do.
